Banditry, Kidnapping, and Targeted Killings

State: Kaduna

Banditry, kidnapping and targeted killings are major insecurity features in Kaduna State today. Recent terrorist killing of an abducted ECWA pastor, James Audu Issah, as well as circumstance surrounding Reverend Father Bobbo Paschal who was kidnapped by terrorists on Monday 17th November 2025 in Kagarko in Southern Kaduna and subsequently murdered have heightened tension in the state,  During the raid, the brother of a priest, Fr. Anthony Yero, was reportedly killed.

There arises palpable fear in Kaduna State as bandits kidnapped Bitiyock Dominic Yahaya, the younger brother of the Paramount Chief of Kataf, Sir Dominic Gambo Yahaya, during an attack on Magamiya village in the Zangon Kataf local government area on  Wednesday, November 19, 2025, He is also described as a church leader within the Kafanchan Catholic Diocese.
Earlier, an attack on Gidan Waya village in the Lere Local Government Area resulted in the deaths of four locals and the abduction of twelve others on  November 11, 2025, including a Reverend and his family members.

It is still a risk to ply the Abuja–Kaduna Highway which is notorious for kidnappings and banditry.
