Banditry and Kidnapping Risks.

Banditry and kidnapping are on the rise in the Northwest. In early November, bandits invaded several communities in Shanono and Tsanyawa local government areas of Kano State, leaving three residents killed.

There is a surge in bandit attacks as the criminals appear to infiltrate from neighboring states, especially Katsina. In fact, Katsina is seen as a launchpad for attacks into Kano border villages.
The most impacted areas are local government areas bordering Katsina. They are Shanono, Ghari, Tsanyawa, Bagwai, Gwarzo, and Karaye
