Banditry is a major menace in Sokoto State. Bandits killed ex-councillor, Alhaji Yahaya Bawa Rumus, and one other resident in Kabunga community in Kware local government area of Sokoto State. This happened in the midnight of November 19, 2025. Previously, in early morning of November 19, 2025, bandits attacked Tarah and Garin Zago in Sabon Birni local government area. About 7 men and 3 females were said to be abducted in Tarah, while few others were injured. Attacks also reached Dabagin Yamma in Wurno local government area of the state.

Therefore, road travel to Sokoto at the moment is highly risky.
