On November 17, 2025, bandits were reportedly seen moving through Libele, advancing toward Tashan Allura and several nearby villages along the Kontagora–Yauri way in Kontagora local government area of Niger State. Residents were said to have witnessed bandits passed openly through the area.
In Niger State, no fewer than 16 local vigilante members have reportedly been killed and 42 residents abducted in a series of coordinated attacks in mid-November 2025 by bandits across communities in Mashegu local government area of the State.
