Abduction for ransom is highly prevalent in Kogi State. Kidnapping flashpoints include routes traversing Ogugu, Ejule, Itobe, Ayangba, Ajaokuta etc. There is recent warning by the DSS of a planned attack on the rural communities by ISWAP.
