Recently, there was a crackdown on criminal elements following the interception of a cache of weapons by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Asaba. Petty crime, cultism, kidnapping, and armed gangs’ activities are rampant in Delta State. Travelers need to watch out for these social vices. 

There are dilapidated arterial roads that are likely to add to travel inconvenience in Delta State. Examples include Warri-Sapele-Benin Road, Asaba/Benin Expressway, Emaka–Etevie Road, etc.
